Ebara Elliott Energy (EEE) will supply a highly specialized liquid hydrogen (LH2) pump system to Chart Ferox, a.s., a subsidiary of Baker Hughes’ Chart Industries.
The engineered pump will be integrated into a high-performance hydrogen refueling trailer developed by Chart Ferox and to be tested later in Bristol UK. This contract marks EEE’s official commercial entry into the liquid hydrogen aviation infrastructure market.
The specialized equipment will directly support the activity of Chart Ferox, a.s., which is a Partner within the GOLIAT (Ground Operations of Liquid hydrogen Aircraft) project, a high-profile European consortium coordinated by aviation pioneer Airbus, comprising 15 European Union (EU) partners, and supported by the EU’s Horizon Europe framework (https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/101138379).
“Securing a position inside Chart’s portfolio for the GOLIAT project represents an important milestone for our global team as we expand our footprint into the clean energy infrastructure frontier,” said Shane Reph, deputy chief executive officer and chief operating officer at Ebara Elliott Energy. “While this marks our first commercial application for an aviation refueling prototype, it builds directly upon our deep rotating equipment expertise and active cryogenic validation developments. The elite performance of our engineering team proves that EEE is ready to deliver the precise technical solutions, localized agility, and operational excellence required by the world’s most demanding clean energy consortia.”
Initial engineering and design validation for the liquid hydrogen pump system are currently underway, with equipment delivery to Chart Ferox, a.s. (Czech Republic), while the refueller will be tested in Bristol UK later in 2028.
