New filtration line targets demanding environments
Eaton has launched its new TOPCART HF filter cartridge housings, engineered specifically for high-flow, high-demand industrial applications—including the oil and gas sector. The housings are designed to deliver reliable, high-performance filtration across upstream production sites, midstream transportation systems, and downstream processing facilities.
Built to accommodate Eaton’s LOFPLEAT HF filter cartridges, the TOPCART HF housings combine the robust performance of cartridge filtration with the operational efficiency of bag-style systems. Flow capacities exceed 4,400 gallons per minute (1,000 m³/h), making them particularly suitable for oil and gas operations where large volumes and process reliability are critical.
Available in single- and multi-cartridge formats, the housings support 20”, 40”, and 60” filter lengths. The 40” and 60” models are horizontally oriented for easy cartridge changeouts, while the 20” multi-cartridge version is vertically oriented. Multi-round configurations include options for 4, 7, or 11 cartridges.

“These applications typically involve high flow rates, which would normally require a large number of standard filter cartridges,” said Ulrich Latz, Product Manager in Eaton’s Filtration Division. “This increases the risk of contamination on the filtrate side during cartridge replacement. To address this, the housings are designed for high-flow cartridges that operate on the bag-style filtration principle while delivering the performance of traditional filter cartridges.”
With a maximum operating pressure of 150 psi (10 bar) and temperature tolerance up to 250°F (120°C), the housings are built for harsh environments often encountered in oilfield water treatment, produced water cleanup, and refining operations. All wetted parts are constructed from high-grade stainless steel, ensuring chemical compatibility and long service life even under aggressive conditions.
Each unit features a compact design with eye-bolt closures and a glass bead-blasted surface finish. For oil and gas operators with strict regulatory and performance standards, Eaton offers versions with ASME calculations, ASME U-Stamp certification, Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) compliance, and other documentation as required.
While the TOPCART HF line can technically serve in broader industrial markets, Eaton emphasized its value in the oil and gas space, where high flow rates and minimized downtime are essential. Engineered-to-order (ETO) versions are also available to meet project-specific requirements.
With this launch, Eaton provides a comprehensive filtration solution tailored to the demands of oil and gas operations—supporting efficient process flows, minimizing contamination risks, and reducing maintenance complexity.
