Scope includes flexible pipeline and subsea equipment installation for BRAVA Energia

McDermott has secured a transportation and installation contract from BRAVA Energia for offshore work at two major Brazilian oil fields—the Papa-Terra field in the Campos Basin and the Atlanta field in Block BS-4 within the Santos Basin.
The contract, defined by McDermott as “sizeable,” with an estimated value between $1 million and $50 million, will see the Houston-based engineering and construction firm deliver subsea infrastructure for two new wells at each field. Under the agreement, McDermott will transport and install flexible pipelines, umbilicals, and related subsea equipment, and will also provide pre-commissioning and onshore base support services.
BRAVA Energia, a diversified independent oil and gas operator in Brazil, is developing the wells to support production ramp-up and extend the life of deepwater assets. The company is operator of both the Papa-Terra and Atlanta fields.
“This award highlights the vital role of subsea infrastructure in enabling long-term production and asset value for deepwater developments,” said Mahesh Swaminathan, McDermott’s senior vice president for Subsea and Floating Facilities. “We will leverage our proven integrated delivery model, marine capabilities and expertise in delivering brownfield deepwater solutions to support Brazil and the broader South American offshore market.”
The new work builds on McDermott’s long-running relationship with Brazil’s offshore sector. The company previously delivered the Papa-Terra tension leg wellhead platform, which at the time was the first dry-tree floating production system in Brazil and the first tension leg platform installed in South America.
The new wells at Papa-Terra and Atlanta are part of BRAVA Energia’s Phase 2 development strategy at Atlanta, which is aimed at increasing output from the field while maximizing returns on existing infrastructure.
McDermott, which operates in more than 54 countries and employs over 30,000 people globally, is a fully integrated provider of engineering and construction services to the energy industry. The company’s fleet includes specialty marine construction vessels and fabrication yards worldwide, positioning it to execute complex subsea and offshore projects in major basins.
The Papa-Terra and Atlanta developments are expected to contribute to Brazil’s efforts to maintain strong production levels from its deepwater assets, which remain a cornerstone of the country’s oil and gas sector.
