Dover Precision Components has launched advanced product and material testing services aimed at helping original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and end users accelerate the development and validation of rotating and reciprocating machinery.

The new offering leverages the company’s 12,000-square-foot Innovation Lab in Houston, Texas, which opened in 2022 to consolidate Dover Precision Components’ research, development and testing capabilities. The facility now provides external customers with access to engineering services spanning the full product development cycle, from concept validation through final performance verification under simulated operating conditions.

According to the company, the services are intended to help design engineers validate new products, optimize component performance, identify failure mechanisms and shorten development timelines for mission-critical equipment used in compressors, turbines and other rotating machinery.

“When your reputation is built on precision, reliability, and performance, testing is not just an option, it’s a competitive advantage,” said Burak Bekisli, director of innovation at Dover Precision Components. “Our lab services are designed to serve as an extension of our customers’ engineering teams, providing the advanced testing, analysis, and collaboration they need to bring high-performance, mission-critical solutions to market with confidence.”

The lab’s capabilities include prototype validation and design optimization, failure mode and root cause analysis, accelerated lifecycle testing, regulatory and compliance testing, and the development of custom test rigs designed to replicate proprietary assemblies and real-world operating conditions.

The facility also offers thermal, mechanical, chemical, optical and tribological characterization for advanced material systems. Dover Precision Components said these capabilities are increasingly relevant for emerging applications, including hydrogen systems, where tribological testing can help engineers better understand wear and material performance under high-pressure hydrogen operating conditions.
