Baker Hughes has signed a 90-month service agreement with bp to provide ongoing support for the Tangguh liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility in Papua Barat, Indonesia. The long-term deal covers spare parts, repairs, and field service engineering for critical turbomachinery, including heavy-duty gas turbines, steam turbines, and compressors across the plant’s three LNG trains.

The agreement aims to ensure reliable operations at the Tangguh facility, a key component of Indonesia’s energy strategy and a major LNG supplier to the Asia-Pacific region.

“This long-term service agreement with bp for Tangguh LNG is a testament to our continued partnership and commitment to progressing energy development in Indonesia,” said Tiffany Pitts, vice president of Gas Technology Services at Baker Hughes. “Our advanced technology and expertise will help ensure the optimal performance of the Tangguh facility, which is crucial for meeting the region’s energy demands.”

The deal extends a partnership that began in 2009 and follows Baker Hughes’ 2024 award to supply additional power and compression systems for bp’s Tangguh UCC Project.

To meet local content requirements, Baker Hughes will collaborate with PT Imeco Inter Sarana, its local consortium partner. The company said the agreement aligns with its broader strategy to expand LNG service capabilities in Asia-Pacific, supporting both energy growth and transition needs in the region.
