Everllence to supply four compressor trains for Hammerhead FPSO offshore Guyana

Everllence will deliver four compressor trains to MODEC for a new floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel serving the Hammerhead field offshore Guyana, part of the country’s rapidly expanding deepwater oil and gas developments.

The Hammerhead project is the seventh FPSO development led by ExxonMobil Guyana Limited, operator of the field. The vessel is expected to be moored about 200 kilometers offshore in approximately 1,025 meters of water. It is designed for an initial production capacity of 150,000 barrels of oil per day, with total installed storage capacity of 1.5 million barrels of oil. First production is targeted for 2029.

Once online, the FPSO is expected to lift Guyana’s total oil production capacity to nearly 1.5 million barrels per day, strengthening the country’s role in global energy supply.

Everllence said its compressor systems will be used to maximize gas production volumes and process efficiency at start-up and through ongoing operations. The scope of supply includes four barrel-type RB compressor trains — two configured as low-pressure gas compressors and two as export

All four compressors will be electrically driven. The low-pressure units will use variable frequency drives, while the export gas compressors will operate with fixed-speed drives. The compressor packages will be designed, manufactured and tested at the company’s Zurich, Switzerland facility.

The contract scope also includes a comprehensive dynamic process simulation package intended to optimize process performance and system efficiency under varying operating conditions.

MODEC, a major FPSO contractor and operator, will integrate the compression trains into the vessel’s topsides processing systems for offshore deployment.
