Chroming expertise taken
Cooper Machinery Services has acquired the chroming assets of ICP Industries, including its proprietary plating processes and operational infrastructure, the company announced. The move enhances Cooper’s in-house capabilities for hard chrome plating and reinforces its position in the compression and engine systems market.

ICP, founded in 1950, is widely regarded as a leader in hard chrome plating for power cylinders. Known for its precision craftsmanship and technical expertise, ICP has built a reputation for delivering high-quality solutions across the energy sector.
“We have been actively listening to our customers’ needs and requests, and this acquisition is a direct reflection of our commitment to delivering on those expectations,” said Scott Buckhout, CEO of Cooper. “ICP’s expertise in hard chrome plating, coupled with their steadfast commitment to quality, aligns with our mission to deliver best-in-class products and services to the energy industry.”
The acquisition integrates ICP’s plating processes into Cooper’s portfolio of products and services, supporting its goal to offer more robust engine solutions and comprehensive customer support.
Cooper Machinery Services is an original equipment manufacturer and aftermarket service provider for a broad range of engine-compressor brands, including both its own and non-Cooper legacy equipment. The company operates manufacturing facilities in Texas and Kansas and maintains a global network of service locations. Cooper is a portfolio company of Arcline Investment Management.
