Williams has completed two major expansions of its Transco pipeline system, enhancing natural gas delivery across the Southeast and Gulf Coast.

The projects, the Southeast Energy Connector in Alabama and the Texas to Louisiana Energy Pathway, aim to bolster energy reliability while minimizing environmental impact. The Texas to Louisiana expansion increases Transco’s capacity by 364 million cubic feet per day, strengthening infrastructure in a critical region for domestic consumption and liquefied natural gas exports. Meanwhile, the Alabama initiative delivers 150 million cubic feet per day to support the state’s transition from coal to natural gas for power generation.

“These projects highlight our ability to execute large-scale expansions safely and responsibly,” said Alan Armstrong, president and CEO of Williams. “Demand for affordable, reliable and clean natural gas continues to grow, driven by power generation needs, manufacturing growth, data center expansion and LNG exports.”

The expansions follow a record-breaking winter for Transco, which experienced 19 of its 20 highest-volume days ever. With more than 10,000 miles of pipeline from Texas to New York, Transco transports about 20% of the nation’s natural gas.

Williams is also expanding its Northwest Pipeline and MountainWest transmission systems to address increasing demand in the West. The company has 12 transmission projects underway, expected to add 3.25 billion cubic feet per day to its systems in the coming years.
