Former Neuman & Esser executive Jens Wulff will focus on expanding reciprocating compressor operations and strengthening the company’s international presence

Svanehoj has appointed Jens Wulff managing director of KOHO and head of compressors, with responsibility for expanding the company’s reciprocating compressor business and strengthening its position in industrial gas and marine markets.

Wulff, who assumed the role July 1, brings nearly 14 years of experience in the compressor and energy industries, most recently serving as managing director of Neuman & Esser’s German operations and CEO for Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India.

KOHO specializes in custom-engineered reciprocating compressors for demanding gas applications. The company has more than 80 years of compression experience and an installed base of more than 500 compressors.

Wulff’s priorities include strengthening sales, expanding project execution capacity, modernizing processes and integrating KOHO more closely with Svanehoj and its parent company, ITT.

“The task is not to reinvent KOHO. It is to build on the company’s engineering expertise while strengthening the commercial and operational structures needed to grow the business,” Wulff said.

The company sees opportunities to combine KOHO’s compressor technology with Svanehoj’s pump, fuel-system and cargo-handling capabilities, particularly for marine applications involving LNG, LPG, ammonia, hydrogen and CO₂.

The integration also provides access to ITT’s broader technology portfolio, including valves and heat exchangers, as well as an international service and supply network.

Wulff began his compressor industry career at Neuman & Esser in 2012, working in project execution and sales, including a compressor project for Shell’s Prelude floating LNG facility. He subsequently held senior positions in production, sales and management.

“KOHO already has the technology, expertise, and installed base. Our task is now to turn that foundation into a stronger international business and make compressor technology a deeper integral part of Svanehoj’s offering,” Wulff said.
