SoftInWay launches AxSTREAM AI design
February 03, 2026
SoftInWay has released AxSTREAM AI, a new AI-powered engineering environment aimed at reducing modeling friction and shortening design iteration cycles for turbomachinery and thermal-fluid systems.
The company said the new platform is designed to support early-stage modeling, analysis and decision-making by adding AI-assisted modeling, optimization and design exploration capabilities to established engineering workflows. The goal is to help engineering teams reach validated design insights earlier in the development process while maintaining physics-based rigor and transparency.
AxSTREAM AI enables engineers to define turbomachinery components and system-level models based on design intent, operating conditions and constraints, then rapidly generate and evaluate candidate geometries. The software supports early exploration of multiple design configurations and tradeoffs, including cost drivers, to improve decision quality before detailed design stages.
SoftInWay said the environment can operate as a standalone tool or be embedded within its AxSTREAM System Simulation platform, allowing users to move from concept modeling to validated system behavior without changing core workflows or engineering practices.
Company executives emphasized that the AI functionality is designed to support — not replace — engineering judgment. The system maintains visibility into assumptions, inputs and results while incorporating workflow-aware and physics-aware intelligence into the modeling process.
“These updates are about making AxSTREAM easier and faster to use for real engineering work,” said Valentine Moroz, chief operating officer of SoftInWay. “AxSTREAM AI is not a black box or a replacement for engineering judgment. It is designed to assist engineers within their workflow, helping them reach confident decisions earlier while maintaining engineering accuracy and best practices.”
As part of the release, SoftInWay also expanded the capabilities of its AI assistant, known as Peter, adding agentic functions within the AxSTREAM System Simulation environment. The assistant can help configure system models, modify elements and execute analysis steps, reducing manual setup time while keeping engineers in control of decisions and validation.
SoftInWay said the combined capabilities strengthen the AxSTREAM platform’s role in system-level analysis, turbomachinery design optimization and digital twin development. The tools are intended to support trade studies, lifecycle decision-making and development of digital representations that reflect real operating behavior.
The company said AxSTREAM AI was developed in collaboration with its global engineering, consulting and support teams and aligns with its broader approach to coupled 0D–3D physics modeling and engineer-driven workflows.
