SGA hires former PHMSA investigator to lead pipeline safety efforts

SGA Natural Gas Association has named Tiffany Ziemer director of pipeline safety and regulatory excellence.

Ziemer joins SGA after more than a decade with the U.S. Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), where she served in leadership and investigative roles. During her tenure, she managed enforcement programs across 11 states and led national accident investigation teams.

In her new role, Ziemer will support the development of SGA’s safety, regulatory and training initiatives, providing members with insight into pipeline safety management, compliance and operational risk reduction.

According to SGA, Ziemer’s experience includes overseeing inspections, enforcement activities and accident investigations, giving her firsthand knowledge of regulatory expectations and the factors that contribute to pipeline incidents.

SGA said her expertise will help guide resources and training programs as operators navigate an evolving regulatory environment and increasing emphasis on performance-based oversight.
