SGA highlights full slate of award categories as April 17 nomination deadline approaches

The Southern Gas Association (SGA) is calling for final nominations across its full awards program, with submissions closing April 17.

The annual awards recognize individual and organizational contributions across leadership, operations, safety and sustainability within the natural gas industry. Winners will be honored at the 2026 SGA Awards Ceremony during the Operations & Safety Conference in Austin, Texas.

SGA’s Chair’s Rising Leader Award highlights early- to mid-career professionals, typically under age 40, who demonstrate leadership and industry commitment. The recipient will receive entry into the Accredited Natural Gas Executive (ANGE) program, access to executive-level industry events and expanded visibility as a thought leader.

The Community Service category recognizes companies that develop impactful outreach programs, emphasizing the intersection of business operations and community engagement.

The Corporate Communication Award honors teams that execute strategic communications initiatives, including employee engagement efforts, organizational change management and broader stakeholder outreach.

The Emergency Management category recognizes organizations advancing preparedness, response and coordination programs in high-risk or crisis situations.

The Engineering Innovation Award focuses on individuals or teams developing new technologies or implementing significant improvements to existing systems and processes.

The Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) category highlights companies integrating sustainability initiatives into business strategy, with an emphasis on measurable outcomes.

The Meritorious Action Award recognizes individuals or teams that take decisive action during emergencies to protect people, assets or communities.

Finally, the Safety and Health category honors companies demonstrating leadership in employee and customer well-being through safety and wellness programs.

According to SGA, the awards program is intended to showcase initiatives that strengthen operational performance while building long-term industry capacity.
