Miba Group Closes Acquisition Of John Crane Industrial Bearings

06 June 2018

Miba Group, a global supplier of engine bearings, said that the four industrial bearings plants acquired from the John Crane Group will become part of Miba Bearing Group. The four sites have 300 employees and are in:

  • Grafton, Wisconsin, USA
  • Columbus, Nebraska, USA
  • Houston/Deer Park, Texas, USA
  • Göttingen, Lower Saxony, Germany

Miba’s industrial bearing sites will become part of the newly formed Industrial Bearing Branch that is integrated into Miba Bearing Group and led by Clemens Honeder as managing director.
With the acquisition of the four industrial bearing plants, the company is now entering a new line of business: developing and producing industrial bearings. The industrial bearings segment of the John Crane Group produces hydrodynamic bearings used by customers in the energy and plant engineering industries, primarily in high-performance applications such as turbines, compressors and industrial pumps. They can be found in power generation applications and in the chemical, oil and natural gas industries.
