Burckhardt Compression expands North American service network

Company strengthens regional support with new hubs in Sarnia, Ontario, and Pottstown, Pennsylvania, plus recent ACT acquisition

Burckhardt Compression has broadened its North American service footprint with the opening of two new regional service centers—one in Sarnia, Ontario, and another in Pottstown, Pennsylvania—alongside its recent acquisition of Advanced Compressor Technology (ACT) in the United States. The moves support the company’s customer-focused strategy, aimed at providing faster, more efficient, and locally responsive service across the continent.

The new 1,200 m² facility in Sarnia represents a significant step in Burckhardt Compression’s Canadian growth. The site offers sales, testing, and maintenance support while complementing the company’s existing operations in Drumheller and Edmonton. By establishing a hub in Eastern Canada, Burckhardt Compression can shorten shipping times, lower costs, and boost efficiency for regional customers.

The Sarnia team provides maintenance, training, and testing services under Burckhardt Compression’s global quality standards. Local experts deliver faster onsite support, rapid quotations, and improved project turnaround times to meet growing customer demand.

In the U.S., Burckhardt Compression’s new 11,000 sq. ft. service center in Pottstown, Pennsylvania—located about an hour northwest of Philadelphia—offers comprehensive maintenance, repair, and upgrade solutions for all reciprocating compressor types and brands. Services include valve and packing case refurbishments, full compressor overhauls, installation and commissioning support, and emissions management.

The facility also provides specialized valve services for oxygen-rich environments, customized training by NCCER master trainers, and digital service offerings such as BC ACTIVATE performance assessments.

With the Sarnia and Pottstown centers joining the network and the September 2025 acquisition of ACT adding local manufacturing and service capacity, Burckhardt Compression is strengthening its North American infrastructure. The integration of ACT’s resources expands parts availability, enhances turnaround times, and deepens the company’s expertise in downstream and industrial gas applications.
