Epic International has named John Sargent the company’s new chief executive officer, effective immediately.

In this role, Sargent will lead Epic’s global growth initiatives for both the reciprocating and centrifugal compressor aftermarket businesses.

Sargent has more than 24 years of domestic and international experience in the compressor industry. Most recently, he served as vice president of Energy for Epic and previously spent the two decades in various sales and operations roles with El Paso Corp., Cameron International and Spitzer Industries.

“We are very pleased that John Sargent has agreed to become Epic’s CEO,” said Joe Winkler, board chairman of Epic International. “John has significate experience and expertise in growing sales and managing operations, with a heavy emphasis on customer relations and partnering.  He is a customer-centric individual with a long history of creating energy with his teams and growth for his organizations; both suit him to Epic’s needs.  He has excellent corporate experience and the drive to help take Epic’s key businesses to the next level of growth and development. We look forward to working with him and the Executive Team to continue the exceptional growth of our global business.”

Commenting on his new role, Sargent added:  “Epic International is a great business with enormous growth opportunities both domestically and internationally.  We have a very talented group of employees, a strong customer base, and a strategic growth plan that will be netting us real benefits over the next few years.  I’m truly excited to lead the group into the next stage of its global strategic development.”

Sargent will maintain his role as the leader of Epic’s Energy division until a replacement can be named.  Reporting to Sargent will be Mike Pelezo, vice president of Operations, and Ryan Canter, vice president of Sales for the Air (centrifugal compressors) Division.

Founded in 2015, Epic International provides aftermarket services, including OEM-quality parts, repair and technical support, for the world’s fleet of reciprocating and centrifugal compressors.  Headquartered in Tomball, Texas, Epic International is led by a leadership team with over 140 years of combined industry experience.
