John Crane names Østerlund vice president, Commercial and Service

Former Chart Industries executive to oversee global commercial operations and aftermarket services
John Crane has appointed Jesper Østerlund vice president, Commercial and Service, with responsibility for the company’s global commercial and service organization.
Østerlund joins John Crane from Chart Industries, now part of Baker Hughes, where he served as senior vice president, Revenue Operations. He oversaw the company’s global aftermarket business and led commercial digital transformation initiatives, including data-driven solutions and improvements to customer relationship management and e-commerce platforms.

In his new role, Østerlund will focus on strengthening customer relationships, expanding lifecycle service capabilities and supporting the company’s commercial growth strategy.
“Jesper brings extensive international leadership and commercial experience combined with a strong engineering background,” said Ruben Alvarez, CEO of John Crane.
John Crane, a Smiths Group company, supplies mechanical seals, seal support systems, couplings, filtration equipment and digital diagnostic solutions for rotating machinery in the energy and process industries. The company operates more than 200 service, sales and manufacturing centers across 50 countries.
