Donaldson Co., a manufacturer of filtration products, has broken ground on a US$15 million Material Research Center at its corporate headquarters in Bloomington, Minnesota.

The 17,000 sq.ft. (1579 m2) research center will allow Donaldson to enhance its filtration offerings. The company will add six researchers and engineers to its already 1,100 employees at headquarters. TKDA is the architect on the project, with Gardner Builders handling construction. The research center is scheduled to open in November.

“The secret to leading in the filtration market is having great filter media, and that’s enabled by having great scientific fundamentals,” said Michael Wynblatt, Donaldson’s vice president and chief technology officer. “This new Material Research Center will enable our continued growth and leadership in filtration innovation for years to come.”
