Motors For Midstream

GE Power announced it has delivered 30 medium-voltage (MV) induction motors, with a total combined power of 110,000 hp, to five midstream compression facilities under development by Anadarko Petroleum Corp. in West Texas and Colorado. GE said the electric induction motors will significantly reduce emissions while driving high-speed reciprocating compressors ranging from 750 to 5000 hp under stringent outdoor conditions.

GE said it designed a robust frame to handle the harsh conditions in high altitudes and various ambient temperatures and to meet the starting, operating and current pulsation required for this specific application.  The frame design also enables Anadarko to have interchangeability between sites and allows for common stocking of spare parts, GE said.
