Global Compression expands footprint in San Juan Basin

New Mexico site brings more space, equipment and capabilities to serve natural gas customers

Global Compression Services has expanded its presence in the San Juan Basin with the opening of a new 14,000-square-foot facility in Bloomfield, New Mexico. The move marks a significant investment in the region’s natural gas infrastructure and replaces the company’s existing location in Farmington.

Operations at the new site are set to begin the week of June 9 under the leadership of Kyle West, a 30-year company veteran who managed the Farmington branch. The Bloomfield facility will provide compressor parts sales, repairs, and overhaul services to customers throughout the San Juan Basin—one of the oldest and most productive natural gas regions in the United States.

“With the move to Bloomfield, we’re looking forward to growing our presence in New Mexico and being closer to our customer base,” said Alan Bowen, vice president of operations at Global Compression. “The new location’s increased shop space and inventory will help us reduce turnaround times and further expedite parts delivery.”

The expansion reflects Global Compression’s broader strategy to bolster support for gas compression operations in major shale plays across the U.S. The Bloomfield site will offer additional services not previously available at the Farmington location, including small natural gas engine and compressor overhauls, and expanded screw compressor overhaul capabilities.

To support these services, the facility is equipped with a suite of advanced tools and machinery, including a 5-ton gantry crane, two 5-ton jib cranes, lathes, a mill and a Coyote blast machine. The increased square footage also allows the company to stock a broader range of parts onsite, enabling faster response times for field repairs and customer orders.

Headquartered in the United States, Global Compression Services provides 24/7 parts, sales, and service support for natural gas compression and accessory equipment. The company has built a reputation for reliability and deep technical expertise, serving key energy-producing regions with tailored solutions for engine and compressor performance.
