USA Compression Doubles Fleet In Acquisition

Premium Content

January 18, 2018

In an estimated US$1.8 billion transaction, USA Compression (USAC) will gain approximately 1.6 million hp in its acquisition of Energy Transfer Partners’ compression subsidiaries CDM Resource Management LLC and CDM Environmental & Technical Services LLC (collectively, “CDM”).

This transaction will essentially double USAC’s compression fleet to a total of 3.4 million hp and lengthen its reach into the Eagle Ford Shale, Rockies, Gulf Coast and Permian Basin. The acquisition will also provide USAC with an increased focus on large horsepower installations as 70% of CDM’s fleet operates at 1000 hp or more. CDM also provides a full range of gas treating and emissions services.

Energy Transfer Equity will acquire 12.5 million common units from USA Compression Holdings as part of the agreement.
