Turbo Lab Launches New Training Summit

04 February 2019

The Turbomachinery Laboratory at Texas A&M University, host of the biennial Asia Turbomachinery & Pump Symposium (ATPS) in Southeast Asia, will offer a free continuing education event in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in July.

The Asia Turbomachinery & Pump Industry Summit (ATP Industry Summit) is a two-day information-sharing, training and networking event for practitioners in rotating equipment and related fields. The event, set for July 10-11 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center, is free to attend by presenting a business card. Pre-registration is not necessary.

Single-subject intensive short courses will be held in conjunction with the Industry Summit from July 8-9. Short courses will have a registration fee, and preregistration is encouraged due to limited space.

The ATP Industry Summit is a new program intended to support and enhance the biennial ATPS, slated for spring 2020. While the ATP Industry Summit will not include an exhibition, it will offer addresses from industry leaders, such as Petronas and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. These lectures will examine industry trends along with products and processes that focus on current and future industry needs and will include time audience questions. The Malaysia Investment Development Authority address will identify goals and objectives for Malaysia in relation to oil and gas, petrochemical and power applications.

Technical sessions at the summit will allow attendees to interact with industry leaders and colleagues. The program will include two panel sessions, a tutorial and eight case studies drawn from ATPS and the Turbomachinery & Pump Symposia (TPS), held annually in Houston. Summit content will be finalized in March with a schedule available at turbolab.tamu.edu/industrysummit/.
