SIAD Group is investing €18 million ($19.6 million) to build a new compressor production facility in Seriate, Italy, aimed at expanding manufacturing capacity and advancing digitalized production within its engineering division.

The new plant, located near Bergamo, is scheduled for completion by mid-2026 and will house production of reciprocating compressors currently manufactured at SIAD’s Bergamo site. The Bergamo location will remain the strategic hub for the group, but the new facility is expected to improve production layout and accommodate growing technology and capacity requirements.
The compressors produced by SIAD are supplied to customers worldwide and are used across a range of sectors, including industrial applications, food processing and energy transition projects.
“This new facility represents a strategic step in our journey to reinforce SIAD’s position in compression technology,” said Bernardo Sestini, chairman and chief executive officer of SIAD Group. “It reflects our ongoing commitment to innovation and manufacturing excellence, marking 100 years since the very first compressor that was engineered and manufactured by Quirino and Bernardo Sestini, which was an oil-free acetylene compressor.”
The Seriate facility is expected to enhance the company’s global manufacturing performance by increasing production capacity and integrating advanced digital technologies into operations.
“The new Seriate facility will significantly improve production capacity, supporting our global expansion in the compressor market,” said Paolo Ferrario, general manager of SIAD Group’s engineering division. “Advanced digital integration across all operational phases will ensure the precision, quality, performance and reliability that have always distinguished SIAD in the industry. Safety processes will also benefit from advanced technologies, in compliance with the highest standards.”
According to the company, the new site will incorporate optimized workflows designed to increase operational flexibility and support customer-specific manufacturing requirements. The plant will also feature smart testing systems and digital workstations intended to improve quality control and operational efficiency.
SIAD said the facility is designed to promote a more integrated and collaborative working environment while positioning the company to meet future market demands for compression equipment.
Founded in Bergamo in 1927, SIAD is one of Italy’s largest chemical groups and operates in industrial gases, engineering, healthcare and energy markets. In 2025 the company reported revenue of more than €1.16 billion and served more than 70,000 customers worldwide, supported by approximately 2,500 employees.
The group maintains operations across Europe and other international markets and has continued to expand its engineering capabilities alongside its core industrial gas business.
