MurCal names Jim Saunders CEO as Bob Murphy moves to chairman role

MurCal Inc. has announced a leadership transition following five years of growth, appointing Jim Saunders as chief executive officer while longtime President Bob Murphy moves into the role of chairman.

The company said Saunders will assume responsibility for daily operations, financial performance and strategic execution, with authority over departmental priorities. Murphy will focus on high-level strategy, key partnerships and industry relationships.

MurCal said the change is intended to strengthen operational focus while positioning the company for continued expansion.

The leadership shift comes after a period of sustained growth for the company, which serves industrial markets with integrated control and monitoring solutions.

MurCal operates as a systems integrator, combining products from vendor partners including Enovation Controls, FW Murphy Production Controls, Johnson Matthey and Trombetta with its own harnessing and control solutions. The company said this approach is designed to simplify operation of industrial equipment across a range of applications.

Its product portfolio includes systems for monitoring and controlling engine performance, including pressure, temperature, level and overspeed. Offerings range from basic start/stop controls to more advanced automation systems.

MurCal also provides remote connectivity options, allowing operators to monitor equipment, receive alerts and perform control functions offsite. Additional product lines include air-fuel ratio controls, ignition systems, actuation and throttle control components, catalysts, particulate filters, DC contactors and battery chargers.

The company said the leadership transition is expected to support faster innovation and clearer decision-making as it continues to expand its product and service offerings.
