Kobelco Compressors expands Houston Service Shop

33,000 sq. ft. addition will include six compressor overhaul stations

Kobelco Compressors America has broken ground on the expansion of its Houston Service Shop (HSS).

The 33,000 sq. ft. addition is designed to strengthen KCA’s service capabilities for customers.

“After eight years of successful operation, this expansion reflects the dedication of our team,” said Peter Venizelos, Head of KCA AMSE. “The new space will enable us to deliver additional services and capabilities locally in Texas and globally, supporting the growth of our repair business.”

The expanded Houston Service Shop will include enhanced infrastructure, including six compressor overhaul stations, two drive-through loading bays, an extruder overhaul station, and specialized areas for hydro blasting, non-destructive testing (NDT), and painting. Additional upgrades include climate-controlled storage, parts inventory services, designated customer working areas, expanded conference space for training, and new 30-ton and 50-ton cranes to support increased operational demands.

The company said this investment underscores KCA’s ongoing commitment to providing high-quality aftermarket services. The expanded HSS facility will offer a full range of technical support, spare parts, field service, engineering solutions, and repair services for both Kobelco and non-Kobelco screw compressors.
