The European Forum for Reciprocating Compressors (EFRC) will host its 14th biennial conference in Hamburg, Germany, from October 14–16, 2025. The event takes place at the NORD Event Panoramadeck overlooking Hamburg’s harbor—offering an ideal venue for knowledge exchange among global compressor professionals.

The conference’s central theme is “Digitalization in the Design and Operation of Reciprocating Compressors,” reflecting the sector’s push toward leveraging artificial intelligence, digital twins, and condition monitoring to enhance equipment reliability, optimize design workflows, and reduce operational risk.
Attendees can expect a mix of plenary and parallel technical sessions covering key topics such as:
- Digital tools and AI applications
- Hydrogen compression development
- Sealing and emissions control
- Monitoring, reliability, and condition diagnostics
- Pulsation, vibration control, and performance optimization
A dedicated training session on Standards and Safety is scheduled for the morning of October 15. It will cover evolving guidelines like API 11P for high-speed compressors, ISO 17934 for condition monitoring, and Energy Institute criteria on flow-induced vibration. The second half will focus on safety protocols specific to hydrogen compressor systems, featuring industry operators, safety consultants, and equipment manufacturers.
EFRC organizers have opened the call for papers and are seeking contributions from OEMs, operators, researchers, service providers, and project collaborators. Presentations based on EFRC‑led and precompetitive research are especially encouraged as part of the forum’s commitment to collective innovation.
The event welcomes professionals at all career levels—from seasoned engineers to early‑career participants—providing both expert‑level insights and opportunities to build connections across the global reciprocating compressor community.
Registration is now open, with full agenda details and submission guidelines available here.
