Premium Content

June 02, 2020

The Burckhardt Compression board of directors will have a new face at the helm on July 3 after its current chairman, Valentin Vogt, opted out of reelection. Ton Büchner has been nominated to replace Vogt, who served as the company’s director for 18 years, with nine of those as chairman.

Büchner’s experience includes serving as CEO and president of AkzoNobel from 2012 to 2017. He also has 18 years with Sulzer, serving as CEO from 2007 to 2011.

Burckhardt’s Shenyang, China facility is also proceeding on schedule, with construction expected to be completed in time for the factory’s commencement in the fall of this year. The coronavirus pandemic interrupted the construction for six weeks. Despite this, the company said everything with the facility remains on schedule.
