Burckhardt Compression has entered into a memorandum of understanding to purchase the remaining 40% of Shenyang Yuanda Compressor, a Chinese compressor manufacturer. Burckhardt, which purchased the 60% stake in March 2016, plans to exercise its call option for the 40% purchase in November.

Since the first acquisition, Burckhardt has expanded into more market segments. The company has also made compressors from Shenyang Yuanda Compressor available through its distribution channels since 2019, Burckhardt said.

Burckhardt’s new Shenyang, China, manufacturing plant also remains on schedule for commissioning at the end of September. Back in May 2019, Burckhardt decided to merge the operations of two Shenyang Yuanda Compressor plants into one. The new plant features a production area that spans 925,696 sq.ft. (86,000 m2) on a 1,646,878 sq.ft. (153,000 m2) plot of land.
