Poland gas compression station moves forward

Poland’s GAZ-SYSTEM obtained a building permit for the Lwówek Gas Compressor Station, which means that the company has a complete set of administrative permits for this investment project and can begin construction work.

The new compressor station is designed to improve the transmission of gas flowing from the LNG Terminal in Świnoujście and the Baltic Pipe gas pipeline towards central and eastern Poland, and will increase the capacity of the North-South Corridor (in particular the Goleniów-Odolanów main line). Another significant benefit of the investment will be the integration of the transit gas pipeline with the national transmission system, the company said.

The Lwówek Gas Compressor Station will be in the village of Zębowo, in the Lwówek commune, in the Wielkopolska province. Three compressor units with a total capacity of 24 MW will be installed in the compressor station, along with the accompanying infrastructure. In addition, a two-way regulation and measurement station will be constructed, with a capacity of 1,230,000 m 3 /h / 1,600,000 m 3 /h, a connection unit with two DN 1000 connecting gas pipelines to the DN 1400 transit gas pipeline, which will enable the transmission of gas between the national transmission system and the transit gas pipeline. The existing Lwówek Gas Node will also be expanded.

The investment will be supplied with electricity from two medium voltage power connections with a total length of 15 km, covered by a separate building permit.

The construction is set for 2025-27.
