ZENRG acquires Versiv Solutions assets to expand gas capture services

ZENRG Services Inc. has acquired the assets of Versiv Solutions, a subsidiary of Artera, expanding its footprint in natural gas recompression and emissions-reduction services across the United States.

The transaction strengthens ZENRG’s ability to provide gas capture and pressure management services across the energy value chain, from upstream production to midstream pipelines and local distribution companies.

Versiv Solutions provides cross-compression services that capture natural gas during depressurization events and return it to the pipeline system. The technology is commonly used during pipeline maintenance, pressure balancing and inspection activities to prevent product losses and reduce methane emissions.

ZENRG said the acquisition expands its presence across the eastern United States while increasing its ability to serve operators throughout the Lower 48.

Versiv’s gas capture technology complements ZENRG’s recompression systems, which recover natural gas and liquid hydrocarbons that might otherwise be vented or flared during pipeline or facility operations.

By combining the two technologies, the companies said the platform will offer operators a broader suite of services designed to reduce emissions while maintaining pipeline operations during maintenance events.

The integrated service offering can support activities including pressure balancing, planned maintenance shutdowns and inline inspection operations.

Joe Chandler, chief executive officer of ZENRG, said the acquisition will expand the company’s service capacity at a time when emissions reduction is becoming a greater priority for energy operators.

“The acquisition of Versiv Solutions increases our capacity and services,” Chandler said. “As emissions reduction is a priority for the industry, we’re equipped to help operators keep more product in the pipe at a greater scale than before.”

ZENRG focuses on technologies that capture gas and liquid hydrocarbons during operational events where venting or flaring has traditionally been used. Through its recompression systems, the company transfers gas and liquids to nearby pipelines or vessels so the product can be retained rather than released to the atmosphere.

The company said its technologies can reduce emissions while also preserving the commercial value of the captured hydrocarbons, providing operators with a potential economic return alongside environmental benefits.

ZENRG is backed by EIC Rose Rock, an energy-focused investment platform.

Versiv Solutions was previously part of Artera, a provider of infrastructure services to the natural gas industry. Based in Atlanta, Artera operates across 41 U.S. states and focuses on maintenance, replacement and upgrades of pipeline and utility infrastructure. The company generates approximately $2.4 billion in annual revenue and employs nearly 10,000 people.

ZENRG said the acquisition will enable it to scale its emissions mitigation services across additional markets as operators seek technologies that reduce methane releases during routine pipeline and facility operations.
