Wood Signs Extension With Saudi Aramco Subsidiary

21 January 2020

Wood has signed a two-year extension with Aramco Overseas Co. B.V. (AOC), a subsidiary of Saudi Aramco, for its unconventional gas program. The extension allows Wood’s teams to continue working closely with Saudi Aramco to develop engineering design and implementation strategies for producing and delivering gas from shale and tight gas reservoirs.

Unconventional gas is key to meeting Saudi Arabia’s growing energy needs, Wood said. Developing unconventional resources requires logistics that differ from those of standard conventional gas reserves. Wood first signed on with Saudi Aramco in 2014.

“We are delighted to continue our role as the main engineering services provider on this program,” said Dave Stewart, CEO of Wood’s Asset Solutions business in Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. “Saudi Aramco is a strategically important customer in the region and we look forward to continuing our close partnership with them and furthering our commitment to building capability in-Kingdom.”
