Windrock Adds To Spotlight Family

03 October 2018

Nearly a year after it debuted a new condition monitoring system, Windrock has brought a similar entry to into the natural gas marketplace. The company has released its Spotlight monitoring system for use with high-speed engines.

The new system has all the same attributes of its predecessor, a device designed to analyze and report the health and condition of gas compression equipment (see COMPRESSORtech2, March 2018, p. 20).

Spotlight for engines captures data from a prime mover apparatus and transmits it into the cloud for operators to access and assess. The system, which is shaped like an octagon, can be installed in as little as 12 hours, according to Windrock.

Monitored engine components include valve trains, power cylinders, turbochargers and main bearings. Both Spotlight systems use Windrock’s proprietary software, which includes Windrock MD and Windrock Enterprise.
