As part of a growing portfolio of services, Sulzer has signed an agreement with Nidec Industrial Solutions to offer Nidec’s drives and offer maintenance services.

Sulzer said its extensive network of service centers throughout North America will provide expert, local support from one of the world’s leading independent repair specialists of electromechanical equipment.

Nidec Industrial Solutions has a long history of manufacturing medium voltage drives for industrial applications, especially the oil and gas sector as well as power generation.

“We are proud to partner with Nidec for MV drives sales and services in North America,” said Jim Mugford, president and global head of Sulzer’s electromechanical services. “This is an important partnership for Sulzer that demonstrates the high-quality service and technical expertise that is required in today’s market. Our experience in the oil and gas sector, coupled with our extensive service center network will ensure customers receive the most effective service.”

The new agreement will see Sulzer provide both sales and technical support for MV drives with a focus on the oil and gas industry in the United States and Canada. The company’s field service teams offer expert support on site, while the local service centers are equipped with modern repair facilities to ensure any downtime is minimized, the company said.

“The signing of this agreement represents a significant milestone for Nidec ASI and we are sure that Sulzer will be the perfect partner for the diffusion of our products and services in North America,” said Dominique Llonch, CEO Nidec ASI Spa and leader of Nidec Industrial Solutions. “We are confident that this distributor agreement is a step in the right direction in terms of meeting customer expectations. The oil and gas market is all about excellent service and energy efficiency. This agreement offers them a solution for both.”
