SLB OneSubsea to acquire subsea business of Envirex Group

Global energy technology company SLB has announced that its OneSubsea joint venture has entered into an agreement to acquire the subsea business of Norway-based Envirex Group AS, a move aimed at strengthening its technology portfolio and expanding subsea capabilities.

Under the agreement, Envirex Group AS and its subsea operations would become part of SLB OneSubsea once the transaction is completed. The deal is expected to close in the first half of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.

The acquisition is intended to integrate Envirex’s specialized technologies and research and development capabilities into OneSubsea’s global subsea technology platform.

SLB said the addition of Envirex’s technologies is expected to accelerate the development and deployment of new subsea solutions while expanding the services available to offshore energy operators.

Demand for advanced subsea systems has increased in recent years as offshore producers focus on improving efficiency, extending the life of existing fields and lowering emissions associated with offshore operations.

Mads Hjelmeland, chief executive officer of SLB OneSubsea, said the transaction builds on a long-standing collaboration between the companies.

“This agreement represents a natural next step in a collaboration that has developed over more than a decade,” Hjelmeland said. “Once completed, the transaction would strengthen our technology portfolio and enhance the value we deliver to our customers.”

SLB OneSubsea is a subsea technology joint venture backed by SLB, Aker Solutions and Subsea7. The organization focuses on digital technologies and advanced subsea production systems designed to improve offshore oil and gas recovery while reducing operational emissions.

Headquartered in Oslo and Houston, the joint venture employs approximately 10,000 people worldwide.

SLB said the acquisition reflects continued investment in subsea technologies as operators pursue more efficient offshore developments and integrate digital monitoring and automation capabilities into subsea systems.

SLB, formerly known as Schlumberger, provides technology and services for the oil and gas industry as well as emerging energy sectors. The company operates in more than 100 countries and focuses on technologies that support hydrocarbon production, digitalization of energy operations and lower-carbon energy systems.

The addition of Envirex’s subsea business is expected to strengthen OneSubsea’s role in supplying subsea production and processing technologies for offshore projects worldwide.
