Siemens To Supply Compressor Train For Propane Dehydrogenation In China

26 September 2017

After receiving a compressor train of two STC-SH compressors powered by a Siemens SGT-700 turbine in 2013, Zhejiang Satellite Energy Co., Ltd. (ZSE), China’s largest acrylic producer, is ready to begin phase II of it’s propane dehydrogenation plant in Pingu City in China’s Zhejian province.

Scheduled for installation in late 2018, Siemens will deliver two more STC-SH single-shaft, horizontally split compressors and a 55,000 hp (41 MW) SGT-750 gas turbine to drive them. This will be the first downstream application for an SGT-750.

“The high fuel flexibility and low emissions of our SGT-750 machines were also crucial considerations for this project,” said Girish Garg, vice president, New Equipment for the Dresser-Rand business’ Middle East, China and Asia Pacific region. “Despite the high concentration of ethane in the gas used for firing, the SGT- 750 achieves low nitrogen oxide emissions of only 25 ppm.”
