Siemens Supplies Five Compressor Trains For Fermaca Pipeline

07 March 2018

Siemens has delivered five SGT-400 gas turbine-driven compressor trains to Fermaca Enterprises (Fermaca) for two pipeline stations in Mexico.

The compressor trains were packaged at Siemens’ Telge Road facility in Houston, Texas. Each comprises an SGT-400 driving an STC-SV single, shaft pipeline compressor. Together, the trains will transport natural gas from northern to central Mexico on a 310 mile (500 km) section of the 930 mi. (1500 km) Fermaca pipeline. Two trains will be installed at La Laguna, Coahuila, Mexico, and the remaining three will be part of a compressor station in Villa de Reyes, San Luis Potosi, Mexico.

The pipeline projects also include a long-term service agreement. Both stations plan to begin commercial operation in 2018, and the entire 310 mile (500 km) pipeline is expected to be fully operational in 2019.

In 2015, Siemens provided an SGT-750-driven compressor train for the El Encino compression station pipeline project that is part of the same pipeline transportation system that includes La Laguna y Villa de Reyes.
