Siemens Nets Golden Pass LNG Contract

27 May 2020

Siemens Gas and Power received a contract from CCZ JV to supply three cryogenic boil-off gas (BOG) compressor trains for the Golden Pass LNG export terminal in Sabine Pass, Texas. The trains, each with a nominal output of 5.2 million metric tons per annum (mtpa), will be part of an export facility that will be integrated into the terminal.

Siemens’ scope of supply covers the engineering, manufacturing and testing of the three, single-shaft centrifugal BOG compression packages, along with all installation and commissioning activities. A 6.8 MW electric motor will drive each compressor package. Manufacturing, testing, and packaging will occur in Duisburg, Germany.

The project scope also includes a frame agreement to supply all low-voltage electric motors and electric variable speed drives (1 to 200 hp [0.7 to 149 kW]) and all medium-voltage (250 to 1500 hp [186 to 1119 kW]) electric motors.

In addition to the BOG compressor trains, Siemens will also provide steam turbine generator sets for the Golden Pass LNG export terminal.
