Siemens Energy to supply 119 SGT-400 cores for Dynamis mobile power packages

Siemens Energy has agreed to supply 119 SGT-400 gas turbine cores to Dynamis Power Solutions for integration into the company’s mobile power generation packages.

The cores, each rated at approximately 15 MW, will be supplied over multiple years beginning in 2027. In total, the units represent more than 1.7 GW of generation capacity.

Dynamis will integrate the Siemens Energy cores into its DT18, a new hypermobile power package designed for applications requiring flexible generation capacity and shorter deployment timelines.

Data centers among target markets

The DT18 will be marketed for a range of applications, including data centers, oil and gas operations, utilities and other industrial users.

Demand for rapidly deployable generation has increased as data center development and other energy-intensive projects put additional pressure on existing power infrastructure. Mobile gas turbine packages can provide temporary, bridge or longer-term generation where grid connections or new utility capacity cannot be delivered quickly enough.

Dynamis said the DT18 builds on the engineering approach used in its DT35 platform and is intended to provide scalable generation with a smaller footprint and faster installation than a conventional power plant.

“This agreement marks another major milestone not only in our mission to deliver power where and when our partners need it most, but also to answer the market’s growing need for flexible power solutions,” said Matt Crawford, CEO of Dynamis.

Crawford said Dynamis has approximately 2 GW of packaged power capacity and that the SGT-400-based units will significantly expand that total.

SGT-400 platform

The SGT-400 is an industrial gas turbine used in both power generation and mechanical-drive applications. Under the agreement, Siemens Energy will supply the turbine cores while Dynamis will handle integration into the DT18 mobile packages.

The turbine cores will be manufactured at Siemens Energy’s facility in Lincoln, United Kingdom, which serves as the company’s global manufacturing center for small gas turbines.

Flexible generation market grows

The agreement reflects a broader shift toward modular and mobile generation as industrial and commercial customers look for ways to add power capacity faster than traditional grid expansion can accommodate.

That trend is particularly relevant to data centers, where developers increasingly are evaluating on-site or behind-the-meter generation to support projects facing delays in transmission interconnections and utility service.

For oil and gas users, the same type of mobile generation can support field operations, processing facilities and other remote or constrained sites where permanent infrastructure may not yet be available.

Siemens Energy said the agreement demonstrates the role of the SGT-400 platform in applications requiring dependable generation and accelerated deployment.
