The SGA Natural Gas Association recognized eight companies and individuals during its 2026 awards ceremony in Austin, Texas.
More than 1,000 SGA members participated in selecting the winners. The awards recognize achievements in leadership, safety, engineering, emergency management, communications, community service and environmental initiatives across the natural gas industry.
The 2026 winners were:
Chair’s Rising Leader: Jacob Abraham, PE, Williams
Community Service: Spire, “InSpired Girls: A Day of Learning”
Corporate Communications: Atmos Energy, “Gus and Rosie” safety coloring books
Corporate Communications/Municipal: York County Natural Gas Authority, Glow Ambassador Campaign
Emergency Management: LG&E, plane crash response
Engineering Innovation: BHE GT&S, mobile AI/AR operations training platform
Environmental, Social and Governance: BGE, Spring Gardens Transformation
Safety and Health: Summit Utilities, Safety-First Mentoring Program
SGA said each winning program addressed a specific operational, workforce, safety or community challenge and produced lessons that could be applied by other natural gas organizations.
