SGA Corporate Communication Award nets 21 nominations

On July 20-21, the SGA plans to hold a webinar entitled “Introduction to Natural Gas Industry.”

The Southern Gas Association received 21 nominations for its Corporate Communications Award from 12 separate companies. The corporate communications award is one of seven categories that are taking submissions.

Other categories include community service, emergency management, engineering innovation, environmental, social & governance, meritorious action, and safety & health.

The organization’s emergency management award recognizes members who have made an outstanding contribution to the creation or promotion of a new service or program or provided exemplary work in emergency management. The community service award recognizes members who have unique community outreach work.

The SGA’s Meritorious Action Award honors individuals who have displayed courageous actions to save or attempt to save lives. The Environmental & Social Governance Award recognizes a member’s efforts to create sustainability and to deliver quantifiable results for community and investor reports.

Members have until Aug. 20 to select the top three nominees in seven categories. Finalists will be announced Sept. 1, 2021 and winners will be announced at the Natural Gas Conference & Expo on Oct. 17-20. For more details, visit the SGA Awards page.

In addition, the SGA is promoting several training courses that are upcoming later this month. On July 14-15, it plans to hold a course entitled “Introduction to Ratemaking.” On July 20-21, it plans to hold a separate webinar entitled “Introduction to the natural gas industry.”

On July 22, the SGA is holding a webinar entitled “Electric Power and Natural Gas Interdependence.”
