Rotating Machinery Services (RMS) has acquired East Coast Mechanical & Marine (ECMM), adding field-service personnel and expanding its capabilities in turbomachinery outage and turnaround execution across global industrial markets.

The transaction brings 27 experienced field-service professionals into RMS, including turbomachinery millwrights and Technical Field Advisors (TFAs). The personnel will be integrated into RMS’s Global Technology Solutions (GTS) organization, which combines engineering, advanced metrology and field execution to deliver turnkey services for critical rotating equipment.

RMS said the acquisition enhances its ability to support outages, turnarounds and emergent events across the energy, petrochemical, refining, power generation and heavy industrial sectors. The combined organization will provide expanded global coverage and faster response times for equipment including steam turbines, compressors and expanders.

“The acquisition of ECMM strengthens our ability to deliver technology-enabled field execution at scale,” said Kraig Simpson, vice president of Global Technology Solutions at RMS. “By integrating ECMM’s experienced millwrights and TFAs into our GTS platform, we are combining best-in-class mechanical expertise with advanced metrology and innovative solutions. The result is faster, more precise, and more predictable outage execution for our customers worldwide.”

RMS’s GTS platform integrates tools such as laser scanning, advanced alignment systems and digital twin technologies with field service execution. The company said this approach can reduce turnaround durations, improve installation accuracy and provide more detailed performance insights throughout the lifecycle of rotating equipment.

ECMM’s existing customer base will continue to be supported under RMS ownership, with additional access to RMS’s engineering, repair and manufacturing resources, as well as its digital technology platform.

Matt Schreiner, owner of ECMM, will remain with RMS in a leadership and technical advisory role.

“Our team has built a reputation for dependable, high-quality turbomachinery field service,” Schreiner said. “Joining RMS allows us to expand that capability with world-class engineering, repair infrastructure, and advanced technology. Together, we can deliver greater value and more comprehensive solutions to customers across the globe.”

RMS said customers will benefit from increased field-service capacity, improved scheduling flexibility and expanded deployment of advanced metrology and tooling in both field and shop environments. The company also emphasized its ability to provide integrated engineering-to-execution support through the GTS platform.

The acquisition further positions RMS as a provider of aftermarket services for critical turbomachinery, including compressors and steam turbines, with vertically integrated capabilities spanning engineering, manufacturing, repair and field service.
