NSK acquires Brüel & Kjær Vibro

11 January 2021

Spectris has agreed to sell its Brüel & Kjær Vibro business to NSK for €180 million. The sale allows Spectris to simplify its portfolio, the company said.

NSK, founded in Japan in 1916, is a global bearing specialist for industrial and mobile applications. Acquiring Brüel & Kjær Vibro fits the company’s long-term strategic plan of specializing in condition monitoring.

In April 2019, NSK established a Condition Monitoring System Development Center to aid its customers with managing the health of their equipment. The acquisition allows NSK to further improve its expertise in condition monitoring, the company said.
