Jacques Sanche to assume chair role at Burckhardt Compression

Leadership transition follows previously announced succession plan

Jacques Sanche will assume the role of chair of the board of directors at Burckhardt Compression, completing a leadership transition outlined in the company’s succession plan announced in June 2025. He succeeds Ton Büchner following a planned transition period.

Sanche was elected as an independent member of Burckhardt Compression’s board in July 2025 and brings decades of international industrial leadership experience. He has previously served as CEO of major global Swiss companies and is recognized for his strategic and operational expertise. The company said his background aligns closely with Burckhardt Compression’s long-term priorities, including innovation, sustainability and global growth.

In earlier remarks, Sanche said he is eager to take on the role at a time of significant change in global energy markets.

“I have admired the key role that Burckhardt Compression is playing as the world diversifies its energy sources,” Sanche said. “With its strategic focus on a more sustainable future, the company has strong momentum. It is an honor to support the great team at Burckhardt Compression.”

The board of directors and executive management expressed their appreciation to Büchner, who has served as chair since 2020. During his tenure, Burckhardt Compression strengthened its global market position, expanded its focus on energy transition markets and delivered sustained profitable growth.

The company credited Büchner’s leadership and governance approach with helping establish a strong foundation for long-term value creation. His term also coincided with increased strategic emphasis on emerging energy applications and continued expansion of the company’s global footprint.

With the transition complete, the board will continue its work under Sanche’s leadership. Burckhardt Compression said the board and management remain focused on driving sustainable growth, advancing innovation and delivering long-term value for shareholders, customers and other stakeholders.
