INNIO Acquires BHKW + Energie Group

By DJ Slater02 April 2020

INNIO has acquired BHKW + Energie Holding GmBH. The German company has three affiliates – Energas BHKW GmbH, EPS BHKW GmbH and EPS Rental GmbH.

These three companies have a service portfolio of scheduling, construction, maintenance and sales of cogeneration plants (CHP) and gas engines in the 67 to 12,740 hp (50 to 9500 kW) range. Additional services include renting mobile CHP containers, supplying spare parts, analyzing and overhauling gas engines, and asset optimization.

INNIO has an established relationship with Energas BHKW GmbH, who was sales and service partner for the Jenbacher engine line in Germany for several years. Nearly two years ago, BHKW + Energie added the other two companies to the group.

The acquisition gives INNIO additional service locations in Germany – Ravensburg, Beesten, Kulmbach, Magdeburg, Rostock, Lübeck and Wilhelmshaven. The three managing directors of the group – Joachim Maier, Andreas Hülsing and Peter Mertel – will remain.

“The acquisition of the BHKW + Energie Group will significantly strengthen INNIO’s service network in Germany,” said Carlos Lange, INNIO’s president and CEO.
