Hotstart promotes Abbott to quality manager

Hotstart, the Spokane, Washington-based designer and manufacturer of thermal management solutions, has promoted Michael Abbott to quality manager.

In that role, Abbott will lead the quality assurance team as well as guide the company in maintaining and delivering the high standard of quality expected by our worldwide customers.

Abbott joined Hotstart in 1998 as a design engineer. Over the last 24 years, he has gained extensive experience designing and supporting the wide range of thermal management products Hotstart manufactures. Abbott has held multiple leadership positions in the engineering department during his tenure including Team Lead of Large Engine Systems, Team Lead of New Product Development, and Team Lead of Product Design Control. He also has international experience having worked in Hotstart’s Germany facility for six months in 2012 supporting our European team and customers.

“I am excited for my changing role at Hotstart,” Abbott said. “24 years as a design engineer has exposed me to many different aspects of our business. My recent lead engineering roles have prepared me well to lead the quality group. There is much to learn from the QA team as each of their responsibilities touch a wide range of internal and external customers as well as suppliers. Exciting times are ahead, and I look forward to Hotstart’s growth with existing and new products and markets while keeping our quality and culture at a high level.”

Hotstart designs and manufactures thermal management solutions to optimize equipment used in energy generation, storage, and delivery.
