GE ICL Compressor Line Set For European Energy Market

26 January 2017

GE received contracts to supply eight integrated compressor line (ICL) units (up to 14 MW) to two European energy operators. The units will help Open Grid Europe (OGE) and Trans Austria Gasleitung GmbH (TAG) transport natural gas across Europe, GE said.

The ICL compression system incorporates a high-speed electric motor and a centrifugal compressor in a single sealed casing. The system also features active magnetic bearings (AMB), allowing it to run without lubrication.

The ICL design removes the gearbox, the lube oil system and seal systems. GE Oil & Gas technology makes up the ICL system, which features electric engineering from GE Energy Connections.
