November 10, 2020

FirstElement Fuel Inc. has ordered a compressor package from Burckhardt Compression that will be installed at its hydrogen facility in Northern California. Burckhardt Compression will provide a vertical non-lube API 618 compressor with its Persisto sealing material and Redura piston and packing configurations for improved runtime between maintenance intervals.

The unit, including motor and supporting ancillaries, will be mounted on a single skid for easier and faster installation at site and is designed and configured to ensure no oil contamination in the hydrogen stream. The equipment will be manufactured in Pune, India.

FirstElement Fuel is partnering with the State of California, Honda, Toyota, Mitsui and Air Liquide to develop a “true zero hydrogen network”. FirstElement Fuel’s goal is to offer retail hydrogen through its True Zero brand for the next generation of vehicles powered by fuel cells.
