Enerflex appoints Paul Mahoney as president and CEO
September 20, 2025
New leader to focus on profitability, cash flow and global growth opportunities
Enerflex Ltd. has named Paul E. Mahoney as president and chief executive officer, effective Sept. 29. Mahoney will also join the company’s board of directors, succeeding interim CEO Preet S. Dhindsa, who will return to his role as senior vice president and chief financial officer.

The Calgary-based natural gas compression and processing company said the decision follows an extensive global search supported by an executive search firm.
Kevin Reinhart, chair of the Enerflex board, said Mahoney’s background makes him well-suited to lead the company through its next phase. “With over 30 years of experience across the industrial and energy sectors, Paul is a highly accomplished and seasoned executive,” Reinhart said. “His broad industry experience, proven track record of developing and executing winning strategies, exemplary leadership capabilities, and fresh perspective make him the ideal candidate to drive the company’s ongoing focus on creating sustainable shareholder value.”
Mahoney most recently served as group president, production and automation technologies at ChampionX Corp., a leading provider of production technologies for the upstream and midstream oil and gas markets. ChampionX was acquired by SLB in July 2025. Earlier in his career, he led Dover Corp.’s artificial lift division.
Enerflex said Mahoney will work with senior leadership to advance three near-term strategic priorities: strengthening profitability in core operations, capitalizing on expected increases in natural gas and produced water volumes in its main operating regions, and maximizing free cash flow to support debt reduction, shareholder returns, and select customer-backed growth opportunities.
“I’m looking forward to joining Enerflex at an exciting time for the company,” Mahoney said in a statement. “Enerflex is a recognized global leader and I believe the company is well positioned to take advantage of growing global natural gas demand for years to come.”
Dhindsa, who has been interim CEO since early 2025, welcomed the transition. “His complementary skillset and experience will bring fresh insight and energy to the team as we continue to build off our solid foundation,” he said.
Enerflex thanked Dhindsa and interim CFO Joe Ladouceur for their leadership during the CEO search. Ladouceur will remain vice president of treasury, tax, and insurance.
Mahoney holds a Bachelor of Science degree in physics and electrical engineering from the University at Buffalo and an MBA from Seattle University. He also serves as a director of Chart Industries Inc.
