Elliott Group to talk H2 blending at Hydrogen Summit

06 December 2022

Marybeth McBain of Elliott Group will provide “Perspectives on Hydrogen Blending,” as part of the program at the inaugural COMPRESSORtech2 Hydrogen Summit.

To be held on April 25 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Houston, Texas, the COMPRESSORtech2 Hydrogen Summit is a unique, one-day event that will provide key information on hydrogen blending and compression and the challenges and changes that may be required for gas compression equipment and technology.

McBain is a senior sales engineer for engineered products at Elliott Group, including LNG compressors, pipeline transport, downstream and refinery compressors and hydrogen and CO2 applications. Prior to joining Elliott Group, McBain spent five years at Kinder Morgan where she evaluated new technology for gas transmission and storage projects and before that, she spent 10 years at Southwest Research Institute.

McBain’s presentation will provide an overview of hydrogen compressor challenges and considerations for how H2 applications may require new compressor designs in years to come.

McBain is the most recent confirmed addition to the technical program at the COMPRESSORtech2 Hydrogen Summit. Others include:

- Peter Roth, director of PPI Products at Sundyne, who will discuss methods and the future of hydrogen compression.

- Paul Modern, chief engineer for valve and flow control products and Cook Compression, and Burak Bekisli, director of materials engineering at Dover Precision Components, who will jointly present on the challenges associated with high pressure, non-lubricated, hydrogen reciprocating compressors.

More additions to the COMPRESSORtech2 Hydrogen Summit program will be announced shortly.

Sponsored by PDC, Sundyne and Howden, the Compressortech2 Hydrogen Summit will provide a comprehensive look the challenges and opportunities related to hydrogen blending, equipment and compression. As the promise and potential of hydrogen in a decarbonized energy infrastructure is likely to have a significant impact on gas compression technology and applications, the COMPRESSORtech2 Hydrogen Summit is a can’t-miss event for anyone involved in the upstream, midstream and downstream gas compression industry.

Beginning its 28th year of monthly publication in 2023, COMPRESSORTech2 covers gas compression technology, products and applications from upstream to the city gate, focusing on in reciprocating and rotating gas compressors, compressor drivers (reciprocating engines, gas turbines and electric motors), control systems, training and all the associated products and services used in wellhead, gas gathering, gas processing and gas transmission pipeline systems.
