EIA: Nat Gas Prices Fall Across U.S.

Natural gas spot prices dropped at most locations during the Jan. 4 to Jan. 11 report week, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA).

The Henry Hub spot price dipped from US$3.37 to US$3.28 per MMBtu during the report week. The February 2017 contract fell four cents at the New York Mercantile Exchange, moving from US$3.26 to US$3.22, the EIA said.

Natural gas storage net withdrawals totaled 151 Bcf (4.27 X 109 m3) for the week ending Jan. 6, the EIA said. Working natural gas stocks are 10% lower than last year and on par with the five-year average for this week, sitting at 3.16 Tcf (89.4 X 109 m3).
