EagleBurgmann Introduces New Dry Gas Seal

Premium Content

April 01, 2019

EagleBurgmann has released a new dry gas seal designed to handle long operating periods and harsh conditions. The RoTechSeal, suitable for centrifugal compressors, is configured to seal shafts and prevent gas contamination.

One feature, known as the smart labyrinth gas cleaning system, forces liquids and particles to bypass the sealing surfaces. The seal also has 3D gas grooves, which create a self-cleaning effect and prevents deposits on the sliding faces. An optional torque transmission protects the sliding faces from damage.

For applications with high demands and extreme operating conditions, the sliding faces are coated with microcrystalline DiamondFace to prevent damage from dirt particles.

The RoTechSeal also features low leakage values, which minimize environmentally harmful influences from the supply gas and dirt carried in through the leakage flow.
